The collection contains awards, photographs, printed material, and realia. Items span the years 1920-2009, with the majority of the materials concentrated in 1970-96.
Documents pertaining to biographical research on Dr. James Hall, and the concerted efforts of several Jacksonville residents to recognize Dr. Hall as an American patriot and to publicize the historical importance of his burial site. The collection includes biographical materials, correspondence, newspaper clippings, research notes, minutes of meetings, maps, periodicals, presentations and speeches by Dr. G. Dekle Taylor, and photographs.
Photographs show construction sites in downtown Jacksonville, primarily the Independent Life Building (the present Modis Building) in 1972-73 and the Baptist Medical Center building. Other miscellaneous subjects include a Jacksonville River Run (undated), and personal photographs of Mr. Burt. Sizes of the photographs range from three and one-half inches to eleven by fourteen inches
The collection consists of 213 photographs and other miscellaneous materials, including Deane's photo order book for January 1945. The photographs are primarily 8x10 black and white prints, featuring daylight scenes. With only a few exceptions, the photographs are undated, with the earliest known photograph in the collection being 1944. Empirical evidence dates the majority of the collection as mid-twentieth century, ca. 1945-1965.
